Why Church?
- Jesus wants all to be His own, He; desires all (people) to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:4)
- We gather at church because that is where His Word is proclaimed in its truth, purity, and entirety. “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” (Romans 10:17) The Sacraments (Baptism & Communion) are also offered there in accordance with His Word.
- Through the means of grace the Holy Spirit creates and preserves Christian faith that trusts in Jesus alone. All who trust in Jesus are justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law. (Romans 3:28)
- Faith in Jesus gives unconditional forgiveness; the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John (1:7b)
- Faith in Jesus gives the certainty of life eternal. And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. (1 John 5:11)
- Faith in Jesus also prepares us for all we face in this life. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5b)
- Faith in Jesus gives true peace; You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. (Isaiah 26:3)
- Jesus invites all; come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)
- Jesus promises to answer the prayers of all those who trust in Him for forgiveness and salvation. Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me. (Psalm 50:15)
Why church? Jesus knows how much we need Him. Jesus also reminds us we need each other
NO, going to church, in itself, will not get you to heaven; only faith in Jesus alone saves! However, it is also true that not going to church can cause faith to die if not “fed.” Jesus loves all and has given to us a special and precious blessing we call “church.”
We always welcome new people to our church. If you have any questions concerning our church please call or email the pastor or members at your convenience. We would truly love to meet you and invite you to join us anytime you would like. If you are looking for a place to worship we hope you will consider us.
